The slope of a roof is simply referring to the incline of the roof. A low-slope or flat roof is a roof with a slope of less than 3 inches per foot. Low-slope or flat roofs are usually found on commercial and industrial buildings, such as factories, warehouses, hospitals, hotels, and apartment buildings.
Commercial Low-Slope Flat Roofing - Membranes
A roof membrane makes a low-slope roof system watertight.
Single-ply systems can be installed using the following methods:
Loose-laid and Ballasted - installation method where a membrane is only attached in a few areas.
Mechanically Attached - installation method where a membrane is attached to a deck with fasteners.
Fully Adhered - This means putting bonding adhesive on the back of the membrane sheet and on the substrate before laying it on the substrate.
